What Is Unusual Haunts?

Unusual Haunts is the 2023-2024 game for the Cambridge LARP Society. Unusual Haunts is a fantasy game of survival, exploration and community in a dangerous world of mist and legend.

For generations no one has crossed the Bridge over the gorge. But that was before. Now the fish have abruptly vanished from the river, and food supplies are running low, the most senior of the village have decided the crossing is worth the risk.

But don't worry. They'll make sure you're wrapped up warm before you go.

Themes

• Exploration - who knows what lies over the Bridge? You'll need to keep your wits about you.
• Family and Community - your relationships to others in the village are important to your success.
• Survival - the village's resources are dwindling; no one's going to starve just yet, but there might still be hard choices where they go.
• Whimsy - everyone in the village specialises, leading to larger-than-life characters and deeply explored hobbies.
