Consequences are the result of things which aren't enough to wound you, but do more than just hit you. Rites always produce Consequences, but other activities (such as eating food you found lying around, or getting into a staring contest with a Poison) may well lead to Consequences.

Consequences can almost always be handed in to a ref at the end of an event, and typically carry several other ways to get rid of them, as shown below:

While there is no hard limit to the number of Consequences a person can have at once, if you accrue too many, ill-advised actions may begin to wound you instead. (This is unlikely to come up unless you're really looking for it.)
